our wedding dinner party

A candlelit wedding dinner party in historic German Village following our private daytime elopement ceremony.

As a couple that photographs weddings… we have seen A LOT of weddings. We have witnessed luxury bridal silk draped just so, champagne towers glittering under chandeliers, and timelines executed to perfection. They were all lovely but none of them were weddings we could imagine having for ourselves. Because of this, we will begin the day with a private elopement ceremony where we will exchange our vows. It will be the beginning to all of the beautiful memories we’ll share with each other from now until we’re old and wrinkly - with deep smile lines, a collection of refrigerator magnets from wacky places, and lengthy stories derived from moments much like the ones we’re going to make at this wedding dinner. Marriage, to us, means focusing our shared love of life towards the real, everyday moments we’ll share - and because of this we’d like to begin our marriage simply and with each other. Then, please join us for a candlelit wedding dinner party: an intimate, intentional experience shared with our family, our closest friends… the people who shaped us, challenged us, and loved us into who we are. A central belief we share is that the more you get to know your family and friends, the better life is. They become extensions of you. You climb into their experiences, ideas, and feelings - you reach out for the hands of others, and therefore your life becomes bigger. Great food and great people are meant to be shared - and that’s exactly our goal with hosting an intimate dinner party to celebrate our union. Life - real life, we believe - happens around a dinner table. Dinner, to us, is never something squeezed between obligations. It is the obligation - to joy, to family, to pleasure, to being fully here. Time slows. Phones disappear. Chairs scrape closer together. Bread is torn and tapas are passed. Glasses are refilled before they are empty. Stories are told loudly, conversations overlap each other - and we encourage that. A great dinner party is a love letter to being fully present with each other every day and honoring all of the sacred minutes we get to share with each other. It’s not about, “How long will this take?” or “Will our linens fit within our color scheme? . We’ll cut into a wedding cake and share our vows, but the beauty in this type of celebration is that it takes as long as it needs to, and we’re blessed you’re a part of it. We would be so honored if you’d join us in this special gathering rooted in the love and presence.
