It was a sunny Tuesday in Seattle. Tom was on his way, running slightly late, to Radiator Whiskey in Pike Place Market. Meanwhile Nicole had arrived early and was sitting at a table by the window, looking across 1st Avenue at the unfortunately placed "ShowGirls" gentleman's club. She was wondering exactly what she was in store for, having been lured there by the charming text messages of her latest suitor from the Coffee Meets Bagel dating app. She'd skipped her regular yoga class for the date, impressed by his Australian charms and that he had just recently won an Axe throwing competition at his friend's birthday in Whistler the weekend before. They ordered a drink - her the house red and him a Manny's pale ale. The conversation was free flowing and easy. She was cute. He was funny. This didn't have the all too familiar "I need an excuse to get out of this bad date" feeling. A proposal of a new location, the rooftop at Maximillien with a view of the Puget Sound along with some daring bites (escargot) helped the sparks fly. When Nicole tried to cut off some butter for her bread, but ended up causing it to go flying across the rooftop, landing at the feet of diners at the next table, they both burst into a fit of laughter. As the date wrapped up, Tom walked Nicole home and stole a kiss outside her apartment. They said their goodbyes and he walked away with a longing look of a guy falling in love, and she knew her world had changed forever.
