Things To Do

If you're looking for things to do in the area over the weekend, check out some of our favorites below!

Downtown Kalamazoo Mall

157 South Kalamazoo Mall, Kalamazoo, MI 49007

The Kalamazoo Mall is the main area of downtown Kalamazoo that includes lots of boutique stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. Some of our favorites that we recommend checking out: Beowoof (fun pet supplies and the owner is our friend), Earthly Delights at Amy Zane's (boutique), Caffe Casa (coffee), Climb Kalamazoo (climbing gym!), The Hub (pub-fare), La Familia (tacos and more), Bee Joyful (zero waste shop), and Rocket Fizz (pop and candy shop).

Yankee Springs Recreation Area

2104 Briggs Road South, Middleville, MI 49333

Yankee Springs is one of Michigan's beautiful state parks. Hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and a number of lakes for viewing, swimming, and paddling. You will need a recreation pass to enter/park (you can buy these online or on-site at the park).

Bookbug & this is a bookstore

3019 Oakland Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49008

The perfect place to cozy up with a book, get some Kalamazoo merchandise, find books, games, and trinkets for all ages, and support a local bookstore! This is one of absolute favorite places to visit in Kalamazoo whether it's for a date night, shopping for gifts, or grabbing a cup of coffee.

Plainwell Ice Cream Co

621 East Bridge Street, Plainwell, MI 49080

We LOVE ice cream and Plainwell is the best around!

One Well Brewing & Arcade

4213 Portage Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49001

One Well is a hit with adults and kids! This is one of our favorite Kalamazoo haunts. Good beer & hard cider, yummy food, and a bunch of pinball, arcade, and board games to entertain everyone. Gluten free food options available here.

Asylum Lake Preserve

3836 South Drake Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49008

This is one of our favorite hiking trails in the Kalamazoo area. Dogs are allowed on the trails as long as they are on a leash.

Lillian Anderson Arboretum

7787 West Main Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009

This is where we went on our first date! Beautiful trails through the woods. Dogs are allowed on a leash. This trail system is owned and maintained by Kalamazoo College (where Jess works).

For all the days along the way
