It’s Wedding Time!!

During the pandemic, a lot of us were looking to make new friends. Our mutual friend Avery allowed me (Porsha) to pop in to his meetings and service sometimes. Unbeknownst to me Lawrence was in Avery’s congregation and we had our first hello during a service meeting on zoom. We had another encounter on zoom at a poetry event Then in 2023 we finally met in person at a poetry event in Detroit and exchanged each other’s social media and started having really good conversations. Over a period of time a friendship was developed but not before I took my yearly social media hiatus. Unbeknownst to Lawrence about this yearly thing he looked for me and wondered where I was. A year later HypeQueen ( 🙋🏾‍♀️) came back to social media and conversations started back up and one day Porsha asked for hugs in a note on instagram. Everyone else sent emojis and hearts EXCEPT Lawrence. He sent a description saying “I walk up to you, look you in your eyes and fully embrace you”. How does that make you feel? I felt it was an intimate thing to say and pursued more with the conclusion that he may like me. After a very forward question to Lawrence, we began a romantic relationship and have been inseparable ever since. All day long FaceTime calls and back and forth flights to see each other became a normal thing to do. Then on March 25th in ATL, one of my favorite places to be, Lawrence proposed with friends and family in attendance. Beautiful memories and fierce love has come out of this friendship that turned into a relationship and we pray for many more to come for an eternity.
