On the surface, Olivia and Jack's story may sound like your typical online dating scenario. A girl and a boy meet online, begin talking, all while trying to make sense of what led them together in the first place. What many people might neglect from their story is the amount of prayer, guidance, and provision from God that ultimately led them together. Let's start from the beginning... Olivia came across Jack's Instagram profile, and let's just say, her attention was immediately captivated. She didn't know why, but she instantly knew she wanted to meet Jack. She was first drawn to his heart for worship, love for community, and most of all, his genuine smile. Olivia recalls telling her close friends about Jack and what excited her about him, while simultaneously downplaying her excitement with the statement " but we'll see what happens." What Olivia's "we'll see" statement really meant was that she didn't think much (if anything) was going to come from a simple Instagram follow. So, for the next month, Olivia spent time in prayer and ultimately felt led to reach out to Jack after he posted about a Christian tattoo he had gotten. Jack formulated a message back a couple of hours later and said that he remembers thinking Olivia was really cute and instantly wanted to know more about who she was and why this cute girl was in his DMs. After a couple of quick messages back and forth, Jack cut to the chase and asked Olivia out to coffee after hearing about what jobs, internships, and service opportunities she was involved in. He was drawn in by her heart of service and love for others and knew he wanted to learn more. In true Olivia fashion, her busy schedule led her to make Jack wait a full month until she was able to have a weekend free to meet Jack. Olivia knew it was a bit of a test to see if Jack was truly interested. The two eventually met a month later and instantly hit it off. Their first date was at Paint and Pottery, where they painted, yapped, and painted some more. Olivia recalls leaving the date and knowing immediately that she was going to date Jack. When Jack came home from the date, he instantly told his dad that he was going to marry her. Jack loved how easy Olivia was to talk to, her pursuit of the Lord, and her heart for others. The two began to spend their next several dates getting to know each other better before eventually "making things official" in February. Ever since then, the two have become more and more integrated in each other's lives and have walked through many different seasons of loss, joy, peace, and accomplishment together. They know that the most important thing they want to stay rooted in is their faith and continued pursuit of the Lord. They believe that they can do this most successfully by running this race alongside each other for the rest of their lives. They are overjoyed to begin this next chapter of life together and cannot wait to make a covenant commitment between each other and to the Lord.
