Flight

Durango-La Plata County Airport

The Durango airport is small, with flights from Denver, Dallas, and Phoenix; however, it is the most convenient/closest place to fly in to. If you rent a car, we recommend a car with 4-wheel-drive capabilities.

Flight

Albuquerque International Airport

Getting flights in and out of Albuquerque can be easier than Durango; however, it is a 3.5 hour drive to Durango. Again, a 4-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended and will be important for driving in the winter conditions.

House Or Rental

Airbnb/VRBO

There are lots of VRBO/Airbnb house and condo rentals, both in town (near the church) and north of town (near the reception venue, which is 20 minutes north of town). Tamarron/Glacier Club is the reception venue, and anything at/near Purgatory will be right by the ski resort, which is 10 minutes north of the reception venue. Sharing a house or condo with friends or family is a great option!

Hotel

Hotel Options

For a town our size, we have a lot of hotel options. There are multiple Hilton and Marriott properties, as well as historical hotels in the downtown area. The Strater Hotel and The Rochester Hotel would be some of the historical options.

Hotel

Sleep Inn and MainStay

We have several rooms blocked from December 26th through the 29th. There are King suites available for $105 a night, and rooms with two queen beds available for $65 a night. Please call the front desk at (970) 403-1350 and ask for rooms in the Pope Morand Wedding block. They may be flexible with giving the block rate on days outside of the specific block.

Rental Car

Car Rental

Durango doesn't reliably have Uber or Lyft cars, so we recommend renting a car. Because it is winter in Colorado, we do recommend a car with 4-wheel-drive capabilities.

Travel Note

Durango is a Hallmark Movie Town

So says the Washington Post, December 2019. We truly hope you can join us to celebrate. We think the Washington Post is accurate in its description of Durango in the holidays, and we would love for you to come experience it!
