Located on the Plain & Fancy Farm, we had the "Amish Experience" here when we visited a few years back. We did the "SuperSaver package", which includes a tour through the farmlands in a passenger van, tickets to see "Jacob's Choice", a short multi-media production about Amish culture, and a tour through an Amish house & school.
Also located on the Plain & Fancy Farm, we took a nice buggy ride here led by Eli, a local Amish man, who led us through their farmland and answered any questions we had. A cool experience worth trying while here!
Another place located at the Plain & Fancy Farms, the BBQ food here was pretty delicious!
While in Lancaster, you have to eat at a smorgasbord, which is pretty much another name for buffet but cooler. We went to this location and it was very good. Make sure to try local favorites, scrapple & moon pies!
An amusement park for the kids! If you're an adult looking for thrill rides, we wouldn't recommend this but Hershey Park is about 40 minutes away & Dorney Park is about an hour away.
If the Amish life or children's amusement parks aren't for you, we recommend heading into Downtown Lancaster, an up-and-coming neighborhood with bars, restaurants, and markets to explore!
