Although Punjab is home to many beautiful faiths and traditions, including Hinduism and Islam, Karan and I were both raised in Sikh families and deeply cherish the values and teachings of Sikhism. The Anand Karaj ceremony is incredibly close to our hearts, and it means so much to us to share its beauty and significance with the people we love most. We hope this gives you a small glimpse into the meaning behind the traditions you’ll witness as we begin this new chapter together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stIDGEgjGxA
For our Anand Karaj, we warmly encourage guests to wear either the softest, lightest blue imaginable or the deepest, darkest shades of blue. As a sign of respect within the Gurdwara, we kindly ask guests to dress modestly and keep their heads covered during the ceremony. Many guests may choose to wear Punjabi suits, but please don’t worry if you do not have one a modest dress or outfit paired with leggings and a head scarf is absolutely perfect, and we encourage you to make it your own. Most importantly, we want you to feel comfortable, welcomed, and beautiful as you celebrate this special day with us. Please see below for inspiration and examples of what guests may be wearing (but of course in light/dark shades of blue). :) https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4PTQlqx9KiQ
