After months of waiting, one night at Hawthorne in D.C changed everything. We knew who each other was from matching with each other on Hinge, but we could not meet each other when we first started talking. Luckily for us, that made meeting each other all the more perfect. We met out at the bar on an arranged date. Each person brought their friends with them in case this person they were meeting was strange. However, this would not be the case. Upon meeting at the bar, we knew we had to go on a date. Ron showed up in a lobster shirt, and Alex showed up in all black. Three hours and a lot of talking later, the love started to flourish.
After talking about future plans, Ron and Alex realized they had one major difference. Ron, being thoughtful, wanted to plan a surprise. Alex, not loving surprises, wanted to go ring shopping. They compromised and went ring shopping way before a proposal was in sight. A few months later Ron had a ring and a plan. Ron planned a date night at Alex’s favorite restaurant, All Purpose in the Navy Yard. Alex and Ron spent many nights in the Navy Yard when they first met, so it was the perfect location. Ron took Alex to dinner and after suggested a sunset walk across the bridge. The timing could not have been more perfect. Ron suggested they go down to the dock like they had many nights when they first started dating. On the dock Ron proposed. It was intimate, thoughtful, and caught Alex majorly by surprise.
