First, they swiped. Then, they typed. It all began with a joke about games and some playful competitive banter. They planned their first date for New Year’s Eve… but Pooja got COVID (thanks, COVID). So instead, they spent hours talking on the phone each night—conversations that quickly became the highlight of their days. Eventually, they made it to that first date… only for Dan’s car to get towed (thanks, Chi-Town). Despite the chaos, there was an undeniable spark, and they kept seeing each other—this time with no interruptions from towing or COVID. The more time they spent together, the more they realized they had found something real: their forever person. They soon moved in together, officially starting their journey toward forever. A year later, Dan was ready to propose—but COVID struck again, and Pooja was down for the count. Unbeknownst to her, she was napping just three feet away from her engagement ring. Once she recovered, Dan had a special surprise planned. He got a custom collar for Pooja’s dog, Tommy, with a little pouch that read, “Will you marry my dad?” Inside was the ring. Tommy trotted over, Pooja pieced it all together, and with happy tears and laughter, she said, “Yes!!!”
