In the hallways of Wilkins dormitory at Illinois State University, two souls crossed paths through a pair of mutual friends. It was the start of our freshmen year, and little did we know that our lives were about to change forever. The moment our eyes met at the elevator doors, there was an undeniable spark—a connection that felt both electric and comforting. In that instant, we knew we had found something special. Our first official date came soon after, and we decided to embrace our competitive sides with a fun night of billiards at the campus rec center. Laughter filled the air as we playfully competed, but it was the easy conversation and shared smiles that truly captured our hearts. That evening laid the foundation for something beautiful, and from that point on, we found ourselves spending nearly every day together, exploring the campus and sharing late-night talks. As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, our love story continued to unfold. We navigated the ups and downs of college life side by side, cheering each other on through exams, late-night study sessions, and all the adventures that university life had to offer. Each moment spent together only deepened our connection, and soon we couldn’t imagine life apart. And so, the rest is history.
