Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is black tie/formal. A suit and tie, tux, formal gown, or floor-length dress is acceptable. Houston weather in May, is expected to be anywhere in between 70° and 90°

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

We expect it to be around 70° to 90°. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will all be indoors so an umbrella isn’t needed.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be held in the same venue. The Garage HTX, please refer to the event page for the address. It is about 15-20 minute drive from the suggested hotel.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for an hour. Guests will filter into the cocktail hour where we will be serving horse-devours and beverages.

There will be pre wedding events throughout the weekend.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive thirty minutes to an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and seated.

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

Parking is free and there is plenty of covered and uncovered parking in the venue lot.

Are children allowed?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be for ages 13 and up and must be accompanied with their parents or guardian. We want everyone to relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the babies at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Additional guests may be accommodated after dinner. Please contact the wedding planner to confirm plus one's before the wedding day.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

There is a wedding block reserved at the hotel Derek. Please use the link listed on the website to access the discounted price. Additional accommodations will be suggested.

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

RSVP’s are due by February 1st 2021. You can RSVP online. If you don’t submit your RSVP, we will assume you won't be in attendance.

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Yes, there will be a full bar and seated meal that will be served. The food selection is a southern cuisine. Also the event is BYOB. Feel free to bring your own alcohol on the premises once the dancing portion of the reception begins.

There is a cash fund available on the wedding website. A cash box will be present during the cocktail hour.

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

No there will be no transportation provided. Out of town guests are recommended to rent a car for the weekend.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #vancewedding #thevances #honeyandpooh so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

COVID updates

Answer

Currently In the city of Houston masks are required at all times. Please practice safe and clean habits while in attendance and if you’ve had any symptoms prior to the wedding such as a fever, coughing, headache, aches and pains, exhaustion, severe congestion etc. please let us know that you won’t be able to attend. We will understand. The safety of ALL our guests is very important to us.
