Pohai saw a random video on Instagram of Karl singing Alcoholic by Common Kings. Pohai liked the photo and started following him on Instagram. Then one day, Karl decided to message Pohai during Lent season about the Instagram story post Pohai had made about a Lent 30 day challenge. Karl took interest in what Pohai gave up for Lent. She replied, "the word no for more opportunities in life". Karl took the chance of asking her out on a lunch date, having known that her answer would be yes. Their first date was lunch at Kakaʻako Down To Earth on March 2, 2020.

Karl then invited Pohai to a workout session at UFC gym. Pohai brought Karl lunch and Karl had bought her a delicious acai bowl.

A few days later, Pohai had invited Karl to the Northwest Choralon's Worship concert, along with her friend, Melia.

Karl knew Pohai was the one, so on April 19th 2020 - he asked her to be his girlfriend after he beat her at ping pong.

When COVID-19 had officially hit, we had no choice but to get to know each other more. Ever since, we were inseparable!
