They both swiped right, and the rest is history. How's that for a story to tell the grandkids?!
Dinner at Kraftwork in Fishtown - Evan arrived early and sat outside, only to watch Caroline enter and sit down at the bar inside. They got it sorted out...eventually.
Caroline adopted the Husky-mix Blu, against Evan's "better judgment." Obviously the story ends with Blu loving Evan even more than her savior.* Evan graciously admits that it was definitely, maybe a good decision to adopt her. *this is up for debate.
Evan joined Caroline in South Philly on the infamous Orkney street where they battled mice and roaches, shoddy electric, and noisy neighbors. This nearly four year ordeal strengthened their relationship while only sometimes dampening their spirits. Then they moved to the "other" Orkney house and lived happily ever after. So far.
With an heirloom diamond from Caroline's grandmother, Evan proposed to Caroline while hiking in Carversville. He was excessively nervous considering she had said "yes" countless times before. Caroline returned the favor with a wooden ring, handmade by an old friend, at the base of a wooden bridge where Evan wanted to hike for years. Yes at the base, not at the middle; proposals over water always end in lost jewelry. Given Evan and Caroline's general sense of pragmatism, this made it even more romantic.
Caroline & Evan made things official with a small self-uniting ceremony in Dickinson Square Park. They buried a trinket carved with their initials so that a future generation can see that we could still find love in 2020. Or some rowdy mutt will dig it up. Either way, it was a nice moment. We're excited to renew this commitment and celebrate with you all!
