Society Garden, 2389 Ingleside Avenue, is on Ingleside Avenue. You can park in any of the public spaces in front of the many businesses (no parking lots on Ingleside and marked spaces). Do not park in the Ingleside Village Pizza lot since they tow. Behind Society Garden is Parker Avenue (on the right) accessible by traveling down Corbin Avenue at the light. There is parking along the street (do not block driveways) plus there is a semi-paved parking lot adjacent to the back of Society Garden where you can park. There is a back/side entrance to Society Garden, and you can go to the blocked off Pavilion area for the reception!
It is July in Macon, Georgia—be comfortable! We recommend sundresses (or other light fabric) and khakis with a collared shirt with comfortable shoes for dancing. We have a theme of rainbow (duh) and purple, pink, and orange for the lesbian flag if you want to match the color scheme. We will have a photographer as well as a Polaroid and disposable cameras to catch moments of the day!
We are renting the Pavilion of Society Garden, but they will have live music along with their Taco and Tequila fest so follow the wedding signs to our private space!
If you enter through Society Garden’s main gate, we will be in the lower back corner in the Pavilion. Again, follow the wedding signs! The space is covered, but an outdoor area with some outside games for kids and the family.
We have two of our own so please bring your little ones! There will be games and food catered to them, and we will love the sweet memories made with them!
We will have an assortment of heavy hors d’oeuvres from mini sub sandwiches to olives, cheese, fruit, and vegetables. There will be something for everyone, but please let us know if you have any food allergies. We will have a cake with cupcakes, too!
You know we are huge dog lovers, and while Society Garden is a dog-friendly venue, please, no pups! If you need your dogs kept close by, we live around the corner with a fully fenced in yard. Since we will be at maximum capacity with kids and all kinds of friends and noise levels, we ask that you leave your fur babies at home during the reception.
We have the pavilion booked from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. There is no formal schedule since we are not exchanging vows, but there will be dancing and a few speeches.
