We technically met at school through mutual friends, and although we had been to one another's bonfires a few times the official meet and greet occurred thanks to social media and a little help from Julia's wingman. Early June 2014, Josh stumbled upon the news that Julia was freshly single. Using snap chat, Josh "slid into Julia's dm's" and pulled out all of his best pick up lines. It worked! Later that week after a Luke Bryan Concert, Josh extended the invite for an after party at his house and Julia accepted! But not alone. A mutual friend tagged along to act as wingman, and Julia and Josh instantly hit it off!
Being an outdoors-person, Julia has always enjoyed taking the pups on hikes through McConnells Mills and Kennedy's Mills bear the couples home in Portersville. When Josh was preparing to pop the big question, he just knew he had to incorporate these aspects into the question. But how? Originally hoping to take Julia to a new location to her at Cleland Rock, they found themselves at McConnells Mills on a beautiful spring day. The couple and their two huskies, Lilly and Maverick began walking the trails and soaking in the scenery. Although Julia thoroughly enjoyed every second of this moment, she couldn't help but stop and ask Josh on multiple occasions "do you want to head back now?" But Josh just kept pushing on searching for the perfect opportunity. Five miles later, Julia knew it was time to head back to the truck. They got to the ever so popular covered bridge and Josh dropped down on one knee. Filled with tears and smiling from ear to ear, Julia couldn't say no. With a little help from personalized pup bandanas, the couple was officially engaged!
