Best Man
I've known Diego (aka Benji) nearly my entire life. We've never been able to agree specifically how we met, but it was definitely in the Third Grade. He's been an amazing influence in my life and even during the bitter awkwardness of adolescence, always found a way to kindly speak the truth to me to keep me grounded or help me empathize with other perspectives. Our semesters apart at college never diminished my respect for him, and we'd always reconnect like no time had passed at all.
Matron of Honor
Shannon is the bride's sister and Matron of Honor. We were inseparable as children singing Disney songs, building pillow forts, and playing soccer in the front yard. Now, she is my beauty and style advisor and has gifted our family with the cutest little nieces and our flower girls, Anna Grace and Olivia Margaret!
Groomsman
John and I met freshman year at St. Thomas Aquinas high school while riding the same bus route. We practically lived together on campus freshman year at University of Central Florida and managed to stay close when I transferred to University of Florida (our traditional Halloween Parties at the lake house helped, of course). When I returned to UCF for grad school it was like I never left, and he's an awesome host whenever I visit. We've kept in touch better than most people could have after spending 9 years in Texas, for which I'm extremely grateful.
Maid of Honor
Rachel is the bride's best friend and Maid of Honor. We met in the Cardiothoracic ICU at Baylor and eventually shared the same position as nurse educators. We have traveled the world together, visited many beautiful places, and endured multiple epic failures... but that's traveling! Our crazy adventures have only made us better friends and given us some classic stories!
Groomsman
Ryan and I met in gym class, but we became friends through John. There has never been a dull moment with this one: from bonfires by the lake or by the ocean (his highlights involved fire and/or water), he and I have had many adventures together. When I came back to Orlando for grad school, we moved in together while he was a "proby" in the Brevard County Fire Department. I was groomsman at his wedding several years ago and I'm thrilled to be able to have him at mine. Now a Lieutenant in the department and a father, I'm extremely proud to continue to call him a friend.
Bridesmaid
Danielle is another sister of the bride and will be a bridesmaid. Danielle has a heart of gold and loves people deeply. She is always willing to drop anything she is doing to help a friend a need. She and Lauren recently traveled to England and Scotland exploring quaint towns and marveling over historic architecture. We also learned about our heritage as descendants of King Henry III. In fact, you can see Danielle standing in front of a tower built by King Henry III in her picture!
Groomsman
I met my cousin Laura and her boyfriend Shawn in 2010, several months after I moved to Texas. We bonded quickly over our love of visiting local breweries and experiencing new beers. A year later I moved in with them for the year leading up to their wedding. He was a triathlete and marathon runner and I was NOT at ALL. Before I knew it with their encouragement I was running half-marathons alongside them and making healthier life choices. I moved out once they got married, but six years later we are still close and share many friends. I love them like a brother and sister so it was rough to see them move to Denver this past July. They loved Lauren immediately. And I'll never forget when he said, "This is only your second date? I thought you had been dating for months!"
Bridesmaid
Grace is the bride's youngest sister and will be a bridesmaid. Grace and I have always had such a special relationship as I was able to help care for her and develop a friendship since birth. We have frequent weekend slumber parties in Dallas with segways, ice cream and long walks around the city. Grace is mature beyond her age and is always up for fun activities!
Officiant
Jordan has been on the staff of Christ Covenant Church in Southwest Ranches, FL since 2003 serving as the Worship Director and in Youth Ministries. In 2015, Jordan graduated from LAMP Theological Seminary, was ordained, and made an Assistant Pastor at CCC. Jordan is currently overseeing the high school, middle school, and music ministries. Jordan also serves on the Care & Internship Team of the South Florida Presbytery. He has a son, Brayden, with his wife [also named] Jordan. Jordan and I met at CCC during youth mission trips together including Little Havana, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. From the summer of 2004 to the time I spent getting my MBA in Orlando, he and I (along with Joey) spent all our time together. I love him like a brother and he's not-so-secretly also a groomsman.
