If your kids were invited on your formal invitation either by mentioning their name or saying, "and family," then yes.
Yes, this is mentioned on the "Schedule" page as well. The dress code is black tie optional. We ask to please dress modestly for the Nuptial Mass (shoulders covered, dresses/skirts covering the knees, no plunging necklines, or high slits in dresses/skirts, etc.). For the reception, it will also be black tie optional. We ask that you please still dress modestly, but shoulders will not have to be covered.
Yes! Please check out our "Registry" page on the website. Here you will find all the gifts we like, as well as a cash fund.
You are more than welcome to arrive as early as you like, but the best time frame would be between 1:30pm-1:45pm.
If your invitation says "guest," yes! If not, we ask that it be just you.
Yes! There is plentiful parking at both St. John's, as well as at Clyde's so you won't have to worry at all about where to park (one of our favorite things!).
Yes! We have listed them on the "Travel" tab on the website.
Of course! The Catholic Church welcomes everyone and anyone from all faith or no faith backgrounds to attend not only Mass, but our Sacrament of Matrimony through the Nuptial Mass. We will provide Wedding Programs with a step by step order of the Mass, as well as including the hymns, when to sit, stand, and Kneel, etc. Feel free to follow along and join in when the congregation has a response. If you don't wish to respond, we ask that you respectfully follow along and not disrupt.
The Eucharist is the “source and summit” of the Catholic faith, because it is Jesus himself, mysteriously present, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity under the signs of bread and wine. Thus, the Liturgy of the Eucharist is the high point of the Mass.
Only baptized Catholics who have received their first Communion, are practicing the faith, and are not aware of having committed any mortal sins since their last confession may receive the Eucharist. By responding with "Amen" before receiving Holy Communion, you are saying, "Yes, I believe everything the Catholic Church teaches and professes to be revealed by God and that the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ." If you cannot honestly say yes to those things, then it would be inauthentic and/or harmful to receive the Eucharist. If you're not Catholic or are unprepared to receive the Eucharist on our wedding day, you may choose to come up with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing or remain seated and pray for us in our first moments of marriage.
