Margaret and Ryan met in 2012, the year they both moved to Chicago. There are many who take credit for introducing the pair, and we assure you, those people will not be shy to tell you. Their first time meeting was at a dinner party hosted by Ryan’s friend and roommate, Corey, who is now married to Margaret’s friend and roommate at the time, Jess. Ryan was drawn to Margaret’s beautiful smile and unwaveringly strong dedication to her friends and family. Ryan’s fun-loving attitude and his ability to make Margaret laugh formed the basis of her attraction to Ryan... combined with the fact that he was one of the few people in the city she knew with a car. In the year before they began dating, it was common to see Ryan make an appearance, albeit a non-punctual one, at any event Margaret was attending. Their love blossomed in that year, and in Oct. 2014, the relationship became official. For Ryan the last five years have been a whirlwind of creating amazing friendships, traveling, learning to ski, understanding Margaret’s infatuation with OAR, and realizing that he will never meet someone he loves more than Margaret. He has accepted that he might not ever be allowed to choose the music played when they are in each other’s presence as Marge is an enthusiastic non-official DJ. In the last five years, Margaret has come to find out that Ryan treats most laws/rules simply as friendly guidelines, that playing a competitive board game “just for fun” is a foreign concept similarly to “eating just one” Samoa cookie. Margaret knows that Ryan would do anything to make her laugh. In Oct. 2019, Ryan asked the women he loves to take his hand in marriage. Getting down on one knee in their lovely apartment, he asked the women he loves to stand by his side for the rest of his life. To say those moments are now a blur, would be an understatement. A surprise party filled with many of their closest friends and family followed and a late-night taco-bell run naturally followed that party.
