If I know nothing else, I know that she is going to carry those same ethics into her union. I may be the older sister but there have been so many times when I needed “big sister love” and she was there every time. She’s the person I go to for everything, the one who has always lifted me up, guided me, and loved me through every season of life. In so many ways, she helped shape the woman I am today even if she doesn’t know she did. She’s even the reason I became a mother, which is one of the greatest blessings of my life, and I will always be grateful to her for that. Shurelive, I just want to start by saying how grateful I am that you came into my mom’s life eight years ago. Over time, with patience and love, you didn’t just become part of her life—you became part of mine too. Everyone knows my mom is the most important person in my life. We’ve been through things together that most people don’t know and wouldn’t understand and those experiences only made our bond stronger. For a long time, I saw her hurting and even broken and that was hard for me, But when you came into her life, you loved her in a way that helped her heal. You helped bring back the loving, strong woman God always meant for her to be. Seeing the happiness you bring to her life means more to me than I could ever fully put into words. Thank you for stepping in when I needed a father figure, and for stepping up for the kids and showing them what a real father looks like. One of my favorite things in life is that God created woman from man’s rib—not from his head to rule over him or from his feet to be beneath him, but from his side to stand beside him, close to his heart. And when I look at you and my mom, I truly believe God brought you together to walk side by side like that.
