It was a warm June evening the first night we met in Sonoma CA. We sat out back in the garden patio of the Swiss Hotel. Four hours of intriguing conversation later, we looked around and realized that we had closed the place down. A good sign! Our common love for sports, food and family made it hard to deny that there was something special there that we wanted to explore further. It was simply just easy to be together. This first date led to many more fun filled dates and before we knew it, we fell madly in love!
It was a day I think we had both been excited about for a while. We are both looking forward to spending forever together, and on this day it was made official. It was a Wednesday afternoon. PJ had planned everything, and it was absolutely perfect. We drove up to a beautiful private estate on Spring Mountain and were greeted with Schramsberg Rose. This estate was simply gorgeous, with 600 different varieties of blooming roses, sprawling green landscape and everlasting views of vineyards. Following a tour of the estate, and a short wine tasting we headed down to an overlook with a small table, for a picnic lunch. PJ had packed a bunch of our favorite snacks, which we enjoyed, along with each other's company. Once we had finished, he asked me if I was done, and then said he had a little "treat" for me. Dessert?? He came around to the front of the table, rummaged through the picnic basket on the ground and pulled out a little white box. It was at that time that he came over to me, and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! I stood up, and we hugged so tight. I started to cry (ok... I kinda lost it), but happy, happy tears. It was the most magical day ever. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way!
We look forward to celebrating this next chapter of our lives with you! See you in Napa!
