After complimentary oysters, hot air balloon + helicopter rides.. Zach + I return to our 20 sqft room on the ranch, closing the third day of our trip We wake up + head to the saloon for some nourishment. We soon realize.. there is nothing more Texas than what we are witnessing during our breakfast. Church, worship, praise (whatever it is to you) is happening INSIDE the saloon. Pastor Kelly delivers his service while the band plays behind him filling the small room with such beautiful vibes. Zach grabs my hand to say "Do you think he will marry us?" I look back in disbelief "Him? Right now?! Okay.. I'll ask" To know us is to love us.. we are the most spontaneous! Until this moment, we only had our Marriage License but no set plan on how we would ACTUALLY be legally wed in Texas. So I shake the pastor's hand + ask for him to marry us. He answers without hesitation while bringing me in for a hug. We head outside to the patio where we are greeted by a group of the most generous strangers in cowboy hats offering a bottle of champagne in a bucket, a flower pot bouquet + their blessing on our marriage. Pastor Kelly speaks so boldly about how, although man is the protector, this unity is equal effort. I couldn't agree more. I feel so blessed to have found the perfect compliment to my life in Zach. We start our 6-hour drive to the Chihuahuan Desert.. as husband + wife.. legally wed by Pastor Kelly of The Cowboy Church of Texas! The next morning we meet our photographers, Samuel + Karly, at our spot in Terlingua to kick off our most epic, rad + romantic journey to date We can't wait to share our adventure with you.. <3
