Life is full of semi-charmed coincidences! Max went out to watch Thursday Night Football with a friend - when the first bar was too crowded, they went to join some friends at Map Room, who were there with Katie. They hit it off that night, but as the night ended they parted ways. What followed was several months of both Max and Katie trying to figure out the best way to get in contact with each other before finally re-connecting. As they started going out, they realized how many different forces were pushing them together, including coworkers, mutual friends, and even Robyn Thompson, the mom of one of Max's best friends from high school who told Katie's mom they should go out several months before they met!

Max has always been bad at keeping secrets. While he was able to keep Katie in the dark until the day of, she started to think something might be up as he recommended they get dressed up and go for a walk at Edgewater Park prior to getting dinner with some friends. The wheels truly came off as they got out of the car and he said "Show Time!" As they walked through the park to a small beach, Max walked Katie to a pier overlooking Cleveland and asked her to marry him. An excited "Yes!" through tears followed, cementing the best day of both of their lives. Max ultimately was able to surprise Katie by having her whole family and his family at Literary Tavern to celebrate after the proposal!
