Andrew Grant Hartzell was born on February 7th 1993 to parents Laurie and Jack Hartzell in Easton Pennsylvania. Exactly 70 days after Kailei Paige Picciotti was born on April 18th 1993 to parent Ashyn Flanagan in Bristol Pennsylvania.

Kailei and a friend went to the local Wind Gap Diner late one night for some food. They had an unspoken rule at this place, that if anyone sat at their favorite corner table they would instead sit at the bar. This night was one of those and at the bar they sat next to someone their own age who was alone. This person was Tom Amy: Andrew's cousin and now best man at the Pitzell wedding. Kailei and her friend introduced themselves and Tom explained that he was waiting for his friend to arrive, Andrew. So they all waited together and eventually Kailei met Andrew. The group had so much fun together that they ended up meeting at that same diner every Tuesday night for years and they always sat at the corner table.

Andrew and Kailei's friendship reached an interesting point. Before then neither of them had romantic feelings for each other as they were both always in relationships, but then in early 2014 they had an opportunity. Both of them were single and ready to mingle. Boy did they mingle. Then they made their relationship official on June 23, 2014.

In December of 2014 VERY early on in their relationship Kailei mentioned how romantic it would be if they got engaged on their anniversary and then married on a future anniversary. They look at a calendar and there it was. Their 4th anniversary landed on a Saturday. That day being June 23, 2018. Andrew latched onto that idea and planned on proposing to Kailei that day to surprise her. She was very clueless about the entire thing until May of 2016 when the surprise and the plans were ruined. Kailei and Andrew were both devastated. So devastated in fact that Andrew decided to double surprise Kailei. Then he devised a plan. A 7 step scavenger hunt that would end in a proposal at Columcille Megalith Park in Bangor, Pennsylvania. Kailei fell for his entire plan and was bombarded by the proposal. Which included around 30 of their closest family and friends who surprised Kailei as a group. It was the happiest moment of both of their lives.
