How We Met

We like to say we met “in the wild”—just out in public! Megan and her friends were celebrating her new teaching job and decided to end the night at Rock N’ Dough Pizza, which also has bowling. That same night, John and his friend were bowling in the lane right next to them. Conversation sparked when John turned to the group and asked, “What are you all celebrating?” That simple question led to a night of bowling, laughter, and instant connections. Not long after, Megan and John kept bumping into each other at the pickleball courts, and eventually John asked Megan out. Their first date was in downtown Memphis, where they grabbed bagels and coffee before strolling along the river. They spent the day laughing and sharing about the ways God had worked in their lives. After a few more dates, John left on a dental mission trip, and when he returned, he officially asked Megan to be his girlfriend with a homemade sign. She happily said yes! Over the past year, they’ve loved game nights, trying new restaurants, and growing close with each other’s friends, families, and church communities. John proposed during a trip to California with Megan’s college best friends, Leah and Seth—who also got to capture the moment on camera! He popped the question just outside Yosemite, and of course, Megan said yes. Now, they can’t wait to begin their forever together. On February 28th, surrounded by their loved ones, Megan and John are so excited to celebrate what God is doing in their lives. Their story is just beginning, and they would love for you to be part of it. As you make plans to attend, they ask for your prayers—that the Lord may be glorified in and through their marriage.
