Rob and I met during the pandemic at the Starbucks in West Bremerton. Social distancing was in full swing. He was grande hot chocolate. I was triple grande sugar-free white chocolate mocha. He was wearing a galaxy sweatshirt with kittens. We ditched our masks and walked the pier and talked for hours. He made me laugh. There was an ease and comfortability with him. Our first date was a scavenger hunt of surprises that included watching movies on a laptop in the empty Oak Table parking lot with pizza. I still have his hand-written messages tucked away in a box in my closest. I knew instantly, this was going to be something special. Rob proposed on January 1, 2025, amidst family and friends while watching the fireworks light up the Space Needle on TV. I was so surprised the only thing I could manage to say was, "we're doing this right now?" Aside from, "yes!" I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with the man who always makes me laugh, far less than six feet apart.
