Ready to start our adventure!

Travis took a shot in the dark after a few attempts at convincing Sam to go out with him. She finally agreed on the condition that she got to chose the details of the date. Of course Travis agreed! She decided on one of her favorite pass times... BOWLING! If any of you know Sam at all she loves to go bowling! Sam isn't one to be wined and dined. She isn't a fan of having to get all done up just to feel awkward and weird on a first date. So, naturally, she chose an activity that she knew she wouldn't struggle with. It had all of the elements that helped her stay cool, calm, and competitive-- beer, football, bowling, nachos, pizza... it was set up for success! After Travis lost 4 games in a row-- by a lot-- Sam finally let him win one game. They stayed and watched SEC football at the alley bar and talked until they closed up. Travis, like the gentleman he is, walked Sam to her car, gave her a hug, and asked to go out again soon. After such a great night, how could Sam say no?! Well.... she couldn't! The rest is history...

Travis had been working for months on how to propose to Sam and attempt to keep it all a secret from her in the meantime. Which is no simple task! Sam is not a fan of surprises and once she catches a whiff that someone is up to something, she will stop at nothing to figure out what that thing is! Travis had kept it all a secret until one unfortunate afternoon that threatened to reveal his plans... About two weeks before the engagement Travis gets word that Sam's ring is ready for pick up! This was great, he could be out to the jewelry store and back with enough time to stow the treasure away before Sam gets home from work! However, on the way Travis gets into a car accident! Totaling Sam's car! He had no choice but to call her and tell her what happened. Sam, of course, rushed to help in a slight frenzy hoping that everything is okay! But she couldn't help but wonder where exactly Travis was going... He had been working from home throughout the pandemic and had no real reason to be out in the middle of the day. Nor was it like Travis to be out without telling Sam any details of where he was going. Finally, the paramedics and police finished their assessments and paper work and Sam could take Travis to the ER. He ended up with a minor concussion and some whiplash. As they waited to be discharged, Sam couldn't hold her curiosity back any more and had to ask Travis where he was going and why he hadn't mentioned it to her. He was pretty irritable at the time and had been concealing text messages from the jeweler ever since the accident and exclaimed, "I was out getting a surprise for you! If you want that surprise you won't ask me about it anymore!" This only made it that much harder for Sam but, she was willing to shut up and wait to see what was to come.

Finally the big day! Travis had worked so hard and had an amazing scavenger hunt prepared with clues that lead Sam to some of her favorite places throughout Little Rock. It was the morning of their anniversary and Travis was slightly nervous for the day to unfold and begin Sam on her adventure. He handed her a note with a little riddle and gave her very specific instructions on what to do for the day. To his surprise, Sam seemed perplexed. In fact, she was down right pissed! She couldn't believe that she was given a list of rules to follow and told to drive around all day solving puzzles on their anniversary alone. This took the wind out of Travis's sail a bit, but, Sam solved the first clue and headed to get some much deserved coffee. Once there, the barista, who was extremely enthusiastic, gave Sam her cinnamon roll and coffee along with her next clue. The riddle lead her to one of their best friends house, Kelley and Austin. Little did Sam know, they had been accomplices all along! They chatted with Sam for a while and gave her the next clue. This time, they would accompany her to her favorite restaurant for brunch. As they arrived, Sam sees a familiar face coming to greet her and her friends. Well, well, well, it was Travis, who had already made a reservation for four. They sat and enjoyed brunch, Sam now thinking how sweet it was that Travis had gone through all of this trouble just to take her out to brunch for their anniversary. Then, Travis pulls out another clue for her! Sam was shocked to see that there was more on the agenda. This clue lead her back to their apartment where a dress had been laid out and instructions to meet at Pinnacle Mountain for "the surprise". Once Sam started on the path, she met her mom, then her sister, and then her dad and step mom. At the end of the path, Travis was waiting to meet Sam with roses surrounding a blanket where he started to get down on one knee, Sam didn't give him the opportunity to even ask and shouted "YES!"
