We met at a mutual friend’s birthday party at St. Pete Beach. As two of the only Tampa residents at the party, we clicked and realized we had quite a bit in common. We spent the next few months building a friendship over a shared interest of exploring the city, working out, and good food. We even joined a local yoga and run club to spend more time together after work. Zach wasn't really a fan of the yoga or the running, but it was a great excuse to get to know each other. As time went on, we never spent more than a few days apart. We started dating officially in September 2017, and remain inseparable.
Zach was scheduled for a two-week work trip between Reno, Nevada and Fontana, California. He booked a flight to fly Ali in to meet him in Reno, which would be followed by a weekend of exploring Lake Tahoe together. Ali had a suspicion that the proposal might happen in Tahoe after learning that Zach booked the Ritz Carlton for their stay, which was (and still is) the fanciest place they have ever visited. The weekend started with several beautiful hikes overlooking Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately, Zach forgot the ring in the car, and the proposal was delayed by a few hours. Instead, Zach proposed later that day in the less scenic, but still beautiful, hotel room entryway. Ali said “Yes!” and they celebrated with a champagne toast. They spent the rest of the weekend exploring Lake Tahoe, and receiving free desserts at every restaurant for being newly engaged.
Our wedding will be held at the historic Fenway Hotel in Dunedin, Fl. The hotel was built in 1927, but was recently remodeled to include two cocktail bars, a ballroom, a restaurant, and 83 guests rooms. We encourage our guests to stay on-site with us at the hotel, or at neighboring hotels. The Fenway is conveniently located to keep guests in the middle of local events and attractions, and is also on the route of the Jolly Trolley, connecting guests to Clearwater Beach, Tarpon Springs and all points in between.
