John and Pinar first met while both were new to working in Philadelphia—also known as the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ (from the Greek ‘philos’ = love/friendship, ‘adelphos’ = brother), a nickname that perfectly foreshadowed their story. John, working in IT, would often dash over to help Pinar, in accounting, whenever her computer needed fixing. What began as helpful gestures grew into coffee breaks, lunch dates, late-night text messages, and eventually, love. Their friendship blossomed into a partnership full of laughter, adventure, and endless support.
