Aloha, WELCOME!

Pi'ikea and Reed met after they both graduated from the University of Minnesota thanks to their mutual friend Rico (groomsman). For years, Rico balanced his FaceTime calls back and forth between Piikea and Reed until one summer, Rico brought Reed to a group pedal pub. Pi’ikea immediately locked eyes on the open seat next to the tall drink of water that was Reed. However, Reed, who was intimidated by the large group of women, focused solely on pedaling and did not realize his future wife was sitting right next to him. Fast forward to January of 2018, Reed was watching the Minnesota Vikings playoff game at a bar in downtown Minneapolis. The Vikings were losing with only a few seconds left in the game and Reed was feeling down. As he looked sadly down waiting for the game to end, he felt someone massaging his shoulders and shouting "It's going to be alright, they're going to win this!" He turned around to see that person was Pi'ikea. Reed was impressed by her boldness and thought “Even if they lose, I still got a shoulder massage from a pretty lady!” Not too long after, the Vikings went on to score a touchdown in the final seconds to win the game in what became known as the 'Minneapolis Miracle.' To us, that day is a miracle for more than one reason, it was the beginning of our story.

In July 2022, Pi'ikea thought Reed would never pop the question! She thought maybe...just maybe... he would finally propose in October once they moved to Honolulu to be with her family and work remotely for a year. Pi'ikea booked a camp site for the weekend right on the St Croix river with a beautiful view, however was asked to do a last minute photoshoot for a local Minneapolis boutique. Reed packed a car full of camping gear and dropped Pi’ikea off at the boutique. After an hour of a business as usual photoshoot, the group made their way over to a bridge crossing the Mississippi river. Two poses in, Reed tapped Pi'ikea on the shoulder and got down on one knee. We believe Reed said some really thoughtful and beautiful things...if either of us could remember! Pi'ikea's face was filled with shock and (we think?) pure joy as Reed finally put the ring on her finger. The shock continued as Pi'ikea's parents Lynn and Peter and brother Douglas jumped out from the bushes and rushed their way towards the couple. The night ended with a rooftop full of friends at a nearby surprise engagement party.
