One of the things that made us fall in love with Tuscany is the stunning Elsa River Path (Sentiero della River Elsa). Close to Siena, at a small village named Colle di Val d’Elsa, it is a beautiful and very manageable hike with stunning waterfalls, turquoise waters, and charming wooden bridges along the way. The trail is mostly flat and well-shaded, making it an easy and enjoyable walk. We can’t wait for you to experience its magic while you're here!
One of our favorite experiences in Tuscany was a cooking class at Il Vicario, located about 30 minutes from Villa La Selva. The class is hosted by a local woman who runs the sessions from her lovely home. We learned to make traditional Tuscan dishes using fresh, local ingredients, and the meal we shared afterward was delicious. It was such a memorable experience we highly recommend!
A trip to Tuscany wouldn’t be complete without a wine tasting! The Chianti region, just a short drive from Villa La Selva, is home to some amazing wineries where you can tour the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, and of course, sample some fantastic wines. Whether you check out Castello di Brolio, Castello di Volpaia, or Fattoria di Montemaggio, each offers a relaxed and enjoyable experience with beautiful views and delicious Chianti Classico. It's a great way to experience the heart of Tuscany’s wine culture!
