We're getting married!!!

Gabrielle and Christian’s story began quietly in the fall of 2018, when they first crossed paths in a class at NYU called "Imagining Justice" but it wasn’t until January 2020, through another class taught by late Professor Dinwiddie and a mutual friend, (shoutout to Saaleha) that their friendship truly began. Between studying for colloquiums and supporting each other through finishing up undergrad, a strong foundation was formed. As the world began to open up in 2021, so did their time together. What started as friendship naturally grew into something more, and in May 2021, they began dating. From there, their story unfolded across cities and continents traveling to places like Italy, Panama, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Paris, and beyond creating memories while building a life side by side. In December of 2024, Christian and Gabrielle took a trip to their favorite city, Paris and on December 7th their world changed for the better. Christian proposed to Gabrielle in a flower shop in Paris. A flower shop was a beautiful reminder to the beginning of their relationship, when Christian would send flowers to Gabrielle almost every week leaving her apartment smelling like a flower shop. They cruised down the Seine where Christian debriefed Gabrielle on all of the planning leading up to the day. They spent 5 magical days roaming around Paris and Strasbourg visiting Christmas markets, going to Disneyland Paris, watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle WAY TOO many times and talking about the future they have always dreamed of. Today, their love continues to grow in both the extraordinary and the everyday through new adventures like planning a wedding and finishing up grad school, shared routines, and simple joys like grocery runs and binge watching their favorite shows. Rooted in friendship and strengthened by their faith, they look forward to a lifetime together and are always brought back to their favorite Bible verse: “Love is patient, love is kind… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:4,7
