In 2014, Kyle and Rachel both worked at the same McDonald's and quickly became friends. He invited her to play paintball with him and his friends and the friendship of a lifetime began. The following summer they spent every weekend together, tubing, cliff jumping, and playing basketball. When school started in the fall they made plans to visit Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. Kyle won Rachel a stuffed giraffe and it was all over, they knew they didn't just love each other, they were IN love with each other. Two weeks later he finally asked her out and the rest is history!

Rachel was 7 months pregnant with their beautiful daughter and it was a HOT summer day. He took her for a walk by the lake (her favorite walking path in Plattsburgh). They talked, laughed, told each other stories from their childhood, dreamed about the future, and enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake Champlain. As they neared the end of the trail he told her how amazing the past year had been, how much had changed, how much they had changed. Kyle got down on one knee and (a little shakily) asked Rachel to spend the rest of her life with him!
