FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We have decided for our wedding to be an adults-only celebration. We appreciate your flexibility in making prior arrangements before attending our special day.

Question

What is the weather and climate like in the area?

Answer

New England summers are warm during the day and cool at night, so we recommend a light wrap/sweater to cover bare shoulders and sunglasses for the outdoor ceremony. We will provide sunscreen and bug spray to keep guests comfortable. Bring warm comfy clothes for the casual afterparty at the campfire.

Question

Is there a dress code? Any preferred colors or styles I should wear?

Answer

Our dress code is upscale casual. Think sundresses or a nice button-down shirt with khakis. In other words, dress like a wildflower. If the color of your attire is on a wildflower, wear it! Blues, purples, pinks, yellows, etc.

Question

What should I wear for shoes?

Answer

We recommend chunky heels or shoes you don’t mind getting a little bit of dirt on. Bring sandals for when your feet get tired and sneakers for the fire and early morning!

Question

What’s the wedding itinerary?

Answer

Our wedding will take place at the YMCA Camp of Maine in Winthrop, ME on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The ceremony will begin at 4pm sharp, followed by cocktail hour and reception, which is anticipated to wrap around 9pm. If you would like to continue to celebrations with us, there will be a casual afterparty at the bonfire just outside the dining hall.

Question

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

For those staying the night in on-site cabins: the property will be open all day on September 26. Please come when you can to set up your room and make finishing touches to your attire. We encourage guests to use the kayaks, lifejackets, and courts provided, or just kick back! We recommend arriving at the YMCA at least 30 minutes ahead of the ceremony start time (3:30pm) to have enough time to park and find your seat at the outdoor ceremony space.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos or videos at your wedding?

Answer

During our wedding ceremony, we kindly ask that you keep our wedding "unplugged" and refrain from taking or posting any photos or videos. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special day. All guests are more than welcome to take pictures and videos during the reception. Document the fun!

Question

Is there anything I should bring as a guest?

Answer

We suggest a pair of sunglasses for the ceremony. If you plan to stay the night at the venue, please bring an air mattress and bedding.

Question

Are dogs allowed?

Answer

Unfortunately, no animals of any kind are allowed on the venue property.
