Even though Kevin doesn't remember it, we met at an end-of-summer beach party at Twin Lakes Beach in Santa Cruz hosted by Amalia and Caroline's elementary school friends. Fast forward to the following spring, we saw each other again at a Girls on the Run 5K. Then we started hanging out with the kids together in Santa Cruz, where Kevin's apartment was a stone's throw from the beach. And the rest is history.

The kindergarten besties, Amalia and Caroline, may have brought us together, but our relationship has been filled with the fun, love and drama of watching all four girls grow into a true sisterhood. We've all been under one roof since April 2017, filling the house with awesome girl/woman power. Rest assured, Kevin has his man-space in the garage or out on the road on his motorcycle, in his Subaru or on his mountain bike. Heather occasionally escapes into a book.

At the end of an amazing weekend in Carmel to celebrate Heather's 50th birthday, Kevin was going to propose at dinner, but the little Italian restaurant in Pacific Grove (one of our favorites) was woefully understaffed and the vibe just wasn't right. Instead we went back to our cozy hotel room, started a fire in the fireplace and he broke out the ring. Although initially speechless due to the utter surprise of the moment, Heather very happily said "yes." :-) See you all in Santa Cruz this fall!
