Like an increasing number of couples, Katie and Alex met the old-fashioned way, by both swiping right on each other's profiles on a dating app in October 2018. A lengthy number of weeks later, a date was set at Backbar in Somerville and even Katie's painfully awkward goodbye did not dissuade them from setting up date number 2. Right from the start, Katie and Alex bonded over their outdoor hobbies and affinity for travel. Early on, their weekends were filled with ski trips, bike rides and hikes all over New England. Later these hobbies took them driving across the country to long term stays in Glenwood, Colorado; Taos, New Mexico; and Salt Lake City, Utah. They quickly fell for the charms of Utah and now spend their days enjoying its ample snowfall, towering mountains, rocky mesas, and deep canyons. After 6 years of adventuring together, Alex proposed on the outskirts of Gordes, France.
