Aaron and I met at Alfred University during my first weekend at college. Intervarsity Christian Fellowship was hosting their annual ice cream social at Susan Howell Hall. Those of you who know me, know I don't turn down ice cream. We ended up crossing paths and chatting that night. The night ended with Aaron inviting me to chapel service the next day. After a few weeks of spending time together, we decided to make our relationship official!
Aaron and I were spending time together during one of his weekend trips to visit me at Alfred. I casually asked him what he wanted to get for dinner. He suggested we go out to eat at our favorite restaurant in the area, Club 57. He suggested getting an early dinner, but I insisted we go later. We had a wonderful dinner and on the drive back, he pulled into The Big Dipper (an ice cream shop). Unfortunately they had closed at 8:00 (hence why Aaron wanted to go to dinner earlier). It was his hope to recreate that first memory of us eating ice cream together on the night we first met. We still went to sit on a bench swing to talk and as I sat down, Aaron got down on one knee and proposed.
