We met at a restaurant called Pascal's Café and Grille in Greenwood, South Carolina in January of 2018. We started out as just friends not wanting any relationships but with the help of some of our friends, our magic was born.
After only a few short months of dating, Wade moved to Lexington for work, leaving Pierce in Greenwood. Our relationship was put to the test with long distance and long work hours. But our love conquered the odds. He moved to Anderson later to further his career and asked Pierce if she would move in with him at the end of her year teaching. She accepted!
For a lot of people, moving in so early in a relationship can hinder more than hurt. You can love your person but not the person's living style. Luckily, this change helped our relationship grow. Instead of two ambitious, independent people, we became one power couple who could face the world together. And we've been doing that ever since.
A few months before Wade popped the question, he told me that he wanted to take me on a surprise trip somewhere in March when he had some time off. Of course I agreed. Who doesn't love a surprise trip?? Little did I know that he had been planning this engagement for months! We arrived in Charleston, SC on Friday, March 19, 2020 and I received another surprise, my best friend waiting there for us to arrive! I couldn't believe it! (I should have started to piece things together then about the things to come but I was just too excited with all of my surprises. After that, we had a fun filled evening with more of our friends and called it an early night. We were all exhausted. The next morning, we had a lovely brunch and we headed out for my next surprise. We arrived at Hampton Park and walked around a bit with our friends. We arrived at a beautiful gazebo that I wanted to take pictures of but instead, Wade took my purse from me, gave it to Meagan and got down on one knee. He was so nervous that all that managed to come out of his mouth was, "This seems like a good spot," and popped out the ring! I couldn't believe it! AND I SAID YES!!
