It was during their 1 year anniversary trip down to Miami when Pierce knew he was going to ask Collen that all important question. When they returned from their trip, the planning was set into motion. Pierce asked his father for advice on picking out the ring which pointed him to the same store his mother's ring came from. Pierce knew the ring would have to be a one-of-a-kind piece for the love of his life. Over time with small questions he was able to discern from Colleen what the ring needed to look like. The proposal location also had to be just as perfect! Pierce and Colleen had planned another anniversary trip and NYC was the destination that was meant to be the perfect proposal spot. But this was not meant to be with the pandemic throwing NYC out of the plans. A new location had to be picked, one that they could reach and have a beautiful spot, so Lake Murray was chosen. Pierce's Nana and Papa have a beautiful lake house that would make for a romantic dinner location and set a mood of love. After a year of planning the day was finally here - May 23, 2020 - one year to the date since the Miami trip! The day started with a jet ski ride all over the lake. After the trip they came back to the house to see a table set up with flowers and two place settings. After a special gourmet dinner the sun was setting and their song Orange Colored Sky by Nat King Cole came on over the speakers. Pierce asked if he could have a dance. As the final lyric faded away, Pierce took a knee and asked the question, "Would you be my forever?" Colleen said YES and the rest is history in the making!
