It all started at Blue Cliff 2016 he had a passion for cutting and I have a passion for braiding .I had already started a few weeks earlier than Devan. Then a week later that’s when I (Devan) came to class, sitting only one desk away from Pierage. We became friends within school, and from school to counseling one another. No points intended, just two friends trying to help one another become better people. Somewhere down the line we both noticed there was some kind of chemistry . Devan would ask to be more than friends time after time my answer would always be “I’m Not Ready For That “ ! I appreciated the friendship alone and didn’t wanna complicate things either of us had going on !

We ended up riding to Baton Rouge together to take our State Exams & we just talked and talked and after that day our bond in fact grew stronger! We both encountered difficult obstacles in life during this time that either of us ever second guessed on helping one another through .We eventually introduced our kids to one another & began spending more and more time together. April 5th ( my birthday) was my last day in college and I received an unexpected package at my station Devan had anonymously sent me flowers 💐 it was so sweet of him . The next day Devan went to school I stayed home and worked on a client of mines hair and cooked Devan some lunch ! It was strange of me to cook early in the day to my client so she asked what had me so up to the task I replied this is for my future husband we laughed and finished her hair! He ended up coming to get the lunch and finish his day at school.

Lets go back way back. Persistence and consistency is 🔑. So there I was doing what I did, at her neck like a turtle neck. Knowing our time within school was coming to an end. I couldn’t let this beautiful intelligent #TOUGH lady slip away. It was a few days before Easter, I knew I came from a family oriented background. So I invited her and the kids to Meet my Family Winnfield For Easter. Returning back to Alexandria for class Monday morning from a Sunday of family fun and laughter finding out she had enjoyed herself. Was Music to my ears.Continuing on through the week finding out she had bragged about coming to a family function with me to our Instructor was only the beginning. Ms. E on my side, my good looks and my family with there open arms. She was destined to be Mrs. Hobdy.Devan was in fact my #1 supporter !

April 21st 2016 is the day we actually made it OFFICIAL🤞🏽. That was the day of graduation and what better day to announce that we both decided to be more than friends to our friends and family ! I had family in town and so did he so after graduation we all met up at my house for food drinks and a good old time ! Since it was my birthday month we threw that into the celebration as well After everyone was served and finished eating we sung happy birthday to me and congratulated the graduates we then raised a toast 🥂 “To Us” & “Out Future Together” That Was a Very Special Night !

On a perfect day, I know that I can count on her, When that's not possible tell me can you weather the storm? 😂😂 if you didn’t actually sing that part don’t show up at the wedding. On a serious note though, this lady is exactly all that I may gas her up to be. She is a mother, friend, lover, and most importantly a God fearing woman. I’m learning so much about myself with this beautiful lady. The challenge that she gives to me to be a better man all around I cant explain. Words can’t explain my appreciation and love for her. That’s why decided to let her get on her knee for Christmas and propose to me 🤦🏽‍♂️😫. I meant I I got on my knee Christmas Day 2016 to give Pierage Nicole Harris the happily ever after we deserve.
