On October 7, 2005 (long before Facebook tacitly weaponized user data) Laura logged on and saw a photo. From the moment she first laid eyes on this particular set of pixels, she sensed a special connection. The picture depicted Colin wearing an inside-out Curb Your Enthusiasm t-shirt and a deadpan scowl while blowing on a party favor. Obviously, it was love at first sight.
12 years passed. Sheesh. Where does the time go, right? Colin and Laura explored their shared passions and taught each other new ones: traveling, hiking, camping, and running all over the country. The couple have completed two half-marathons together to date, in Brooklyn in 2013 and Philadelphia in 2017. Colin ran the latter with a ring-box-shaped secret zipped into the back pocket of his running jacket, which he compulsively checked every few minutes of the almost two-hour race. Along the 13.1 mile route, the couple passed the dorm on Drexel's campus where they met for the first of many, many movie nights. They passed Columbus Boulevard and the waterfront, a few blocks from the apartment they've shared for the past three years. At the finish line, standing triumphantly atop a heap of explicitly labeled trash, Colin revealed the ring to the great surprise of his fiancée and friends Zac and Joanna. The rest of the runners seemed not to notice or care.
