Joseph was living in Richmond, finishing up graduate school, and generally being a hermit. Christina had just moved to the city and was ready for a fresh start. Neither was looking for love when Christina responded to a "housemate wanted" ad on social media; they started off living together, quickly became friends, and then fell in love -- the opposite order of how it usually goes, but it seems to be working out pretty well for them! I am so happy and feel so lucky to have found this amazing woman. You are the most wonderful partner I could have ever have asked for, and I am so excited to be taking this step with you. On December 22, 2022, we enjoyed the Christmas season by drinking cocktails at the Jefferson Hotel, followed by riding in a tuk-tuk to see the tacky Christmas lights tour throughout Richmond. After we finished enjoying the festive lights, we returned to The Jefferson Hotel, where Joseph proposed to me by the giant 37-foot-tall Christmas tree!
