We met at the Toledo Club at their annual Spring Fling Event. My Co-Resident and now Matron-of-Honor Alicia Huckaby invited me as her guest and Christian was previously a member. We were introduced early in the night and met up again on the dance floor and the rest is history. I just couldn't say no to his epic dance moves :) Our first date was 6 days later and we've been together ever since.

It was my 30th birthday weekend and my brother and some friends came to town. He'd come to town for every birthday in residency thus far so this was not anything out of the ordinary. We were supposed to get drinks and dinner at the Renaissance before heading back to Christian's apartment for my birthday party later that night. During our first round of drinks, we decided to go take pictures on the balcony before the sun went down. The next thing I knew, Christian got down on one knee and "popped the question!" Out of the corner of my eye, I see the doors to the balcony open and out walks both of our families! The real surprise was the my mom was there. She was on a Cruise that entire week and made the extraordinary effort to hop the boat early to be part of the celebration. It was truly a perfect moment! After dinner, our plan was to head to the Toledo Club to take a few pictures and then go back to Christian's apartment for my birthday celebration. As soon as I walked into the Toledo Club, I hear "SURPRISE!" Christian had planned a surprise engagement party with almost 100 of our closest friends and I didn't have the slightest notion. The entire night was planned to a T and I couldn't have been more surprised!
