Della and Phuoc met in 2018 during EMT school, two souls intertwining through the shared desire to help those in need. Della had just graduated from Emory and Phuoc had just finished three years of traveling, trying to settle his feet his on the ground. I was actually supposed to be enrolled in the previous class but had overslept through orientation day. Instead of catching up, I just moved on to the next class where I met Della. When we first met, I thought "oh she's nice" and left it at that. As days past, I found my eyes constantly drawn towards her as we stayed behind to practice scenarios. I started to realize I looked forward to seeing her warm smile and bright eyes, a relief during my busy schedule of classes during the day and work at night. Days turned to weeks and class groups formed. This became our excuse to see each other outside of class. I eventually gathered the courage to ask her on a date and the rest is history. It's crazy to think how one snoozed alarm was the difference between a life with and without each other. - Phuoc
