How We Met

May 15, 2015

We met at a basement bar in Ktown and didn’t think too much of it. (Although Fung insisted it was a love-at-first-sight kinda thing.) After some cheeky back and forth banter, the night ended with Fung calling himself John Cena and Phoenix actually believed it. We spent a really nice summer getting to know each other – friends gathering, happy hours, July 4th in Maine, camping, fireworks in Coney Island. Then September came - it's Phoenix’s favorite season, and that’s also pretty much when we thought, “ Okay. I guess this could be something.”

How He Asked

January 21, 2018

Fung had his graduation ceremony in Tampa, and Phoenix took him to Disney World the next day to celebrate. (More like she LOVES going to Disney..) She made a reservation at Be Our Guest Restaurant so they can have a picture with the Beast. She was so excited the whole day because once again, she LOVES Disney. Little did she know that Fung had the ring in his pocket all along. Finally it was their turn for the pictures. All of a sudden Fung got down on one knee with a ring. Even though Phoenix could barely hear him as everyone around was clapping and cheering for them, she said YES after three seconds of shock. They then spent a week in Orlando as a newly engaged couple. Everyone in the resort congratulated them and a sweet old lady said, "Always remember how in love you are right now and never forget this feeling." Will keep that in mind :)

How Things Changed

Our original wedding date was August 30, 2020 and it supposed to be a beautiful late summer day. We were happily planning in early 2020, then the pandemic hit. We were stuck at home 24/7 like everyone else. It was heartbroken to see how the whole world changed, upside down. Our wedding had to be postponed as well but it doesn't really compare to how other people suffer. These 20 months, we cried, we argued, we were worried but then we hugged, encouraged and promised each other that things will get better. And we also got a new family member, Beanie the puppy. Now our relationship is much stronger, and we believe there will be an awesome night that we can celebrate our union with our favorite people. That's YOU - the one who's reading this :)
