We're making it Official

I am a boisterous native of Vietnam and Brian is a quiet and shy homegrown California boy. He had never travelled outside of the state until he went on a boys trip to Chicago. His father jokingly said "Don't go to Chicago and fall in Love." He was always a wise man :) We locked eyes outside of a pub, on Brian's first night in the city. He was leaving the pub with his friend, Mike. I was sitting on a stoop in the doorway of a shop with my cousin. I looked up and knew there was something special about him but, before either one of us spoke, Mike was introducing us to one another! It turned out that Mike was a mutual friend of ours. The whole exchange lasted five minutes and we all parted ways. Brian had expressed that he was smitten with me and good old Mike used that to his advantage. You see, Brian was staying with Mike while he was in town and was guest spotting at his tattoo shop. A couple days later, Mike and the rest of the boys wanted to go drinking and decided to tell Brian that I had a tattoo appointment that day (I didn't). Poor Brian decided to wait around the shop all day and the next day, and the day after that. Although, I didn't have an appointment, I did live nearby and happened to walk past the shop while Brian was outside on that third day. My sweet shy Brian had all those days to build his confidence to speak to me and I was impressed with his swagger. It turns out we were both delightfully bamboozled!
