Things To Do

Louisville is an awesome place and we've done so much in and around the city! Please see the sights, eat good food, and drink good bourbon while you're in town:)

Restaurants

La Bodeguita de Mima - in Nulu area (downtown-ish), AMAZING cuban food and great atmosphere Barcelona Bistro - in Jeffersontown area (was supposed to be our first date spot but they had water main issues!), great Spanish food River House Restaurant and Raw Bar - right on the ohio river with delicious seafood and cocktails (some of the best scallops we've ever had) House of Marigold - in Middletown area (east of downtown), spectacular brunch and super cute vibe Mussel & Burger Bar - a few locations in the city, fantastic burgers and fries

Bakeries and Coffee Shops

Butchertown Grocery and Bakery - perfect croissants and breakfast sandwiches (get the Danwich or the Wag), also good coffee Heine Bros Coffee - local chain coffee place with lots of locations across the city (the beekeeper is our go to!) Blue Dog Bakery and Cafe - french style bakery with great breakfast and a perfect baguette

Distillery Tours

IF YOU PLAN TO DO A BOURBON TOUR, BOOK IT AHEAD OF TIME! THEY SELL OUT FAST, ESPECIALLY ON WEEKENDS! Angels Envy - Downtown and super awesome tour, one of our go-tos Rabbit Hole - newer distillery, built and designed around having a tour, great experience and the tour comes with a drink to sip on as you walk:) Copper & Kings - less bourbon and more brandy, but awesome vibe, check out their "sonic aging process" Stitzel-Weller Distillery - some of the older distillery infrastructure you can see in the city, more historical tour with a tasting Buffalo Trace - ~45 mins to an hour outside the city but we had to include it, they make all of our favorites and their tour/tasting is free! You just have to book early online.

Museums + Places to See

Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory - where all the Louisville slugger bats are made! Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs - learn about "the most exciting 2 minutes in sports" and take a look at the iconic track (you don't have to know anything about horse racing to enjoy this - we promise) Cherokee Park - where we got engaged! Waterfront Park + Walking Bridge - walk across the river on the Big Four Bridge between Kentucky and Indiana, get a great look at the city skyline Belle of Louisville Tour- book a ride on a historic riverboat for a float down the Ohio river, they have historical and sightseeing options!
