It is going to be extremely hot and humid so please wear whatever keeps you cool enough to make some good moves on the dance floor. A hat would be handy for the ceremony. For the ladies stiletto heels would not be a good option as the Ceremony will be on soft ground, but wedges would work or even bare foot!!!
Yes, all British passport holders will need a visa into Zimbabwe and Zambia. If you are flying in and out of Livingstone you will need a double entry visa ($75) or a Kaza Visa , if they have them in stock on the day. If you are flying into Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe you will need a single entry visa ($55) into Zimbabwe or a double if you intend to travel after/before the wedding. A Kaza visa is the best visa to get ($50) it gives multiple entries into Zimbabwe/Zambia so please ensure you ask the immigration officer for that first. Please make sure you bring exact US Dollar cash for the visa entries. There are no card facilities. Passports must have 6months to run and at least 3 completely clear pages for visa purposes and Airlines at stopovers and airlines in Zim and Zam have been known to refuse boarding without. Visas can be acquired on entry.
There will be shuttles from 3 main meeting/collection points which will then take you to the Khanondo Jetty at A'Zambezi Hotel where your carriages await you... Collections at 14:30 on 13th October 2018: Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Reception Elephant Hills Hotel Flatdogs Please let myself or Louise know which meeting point you are going to be collected at if you are not staying at one of those hotels. If you plan to get a taxi to A'Zambezi Jetty then it is important we know this aswell as we do not want to leave anyone behind!!
There will be shuttles from 10 pm onwards on the hour, to the main meeting points (Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Elephant Hills and Flatdogs) . These will run all night however there must be a minimum of 10 people in one shuttle. If there are not 10 people a taxi will be ordered for the guests at their own expense.
A shuttle can take you back to the main meetings points and then your hotel can always organise you a taxi from there. Louise and her team will be around to help people at any point to organise taxis.
We really would like it if noone self-drive themselves to the ceremony, reception and then home. Not only will you most probably get lost but there are plenty of elephant at that time of year which roam around and it could be a disaster waiting to happen! You can park at the meeting points and then from there drive home if you would like.
Many of our friends have toddlers and children however on our special day please bring only babies in arms. There is a very reliable and trustworthy baby sitting service run by African Albida Tourism/ Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. If you would like to contact them please email resweb@saflodge.co.zw or go to the reception when you arrive to book the service.
All major establishments take Visa, American Express and Mastercard but cash in Zimbabwe is only USD. Some US$ cash will be required for visas, golf, taxis, drinks, some food and snacks (particularly Friday night at the Brewery and Sunday pm at Zambezi House), souvenirs, Falls entry tickets. You can not rely on the card machines to be working all the time and there are few ATMs with limited drawings daily.
