Our story began in a way that has become increasingly common in this digital age-- an online dating app. It was the high of the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when meeting new people felt almost impossible. But there we were, striking up conversations and sharing laughs through screens. Our first date was at a cozy Thai restaurant. We were nervous but excited, eager to see if the connection we felt online would translate in person. As we sat down to eat, Phoebe mentioned how much she loved Thai food, and I knew we were off to a good start. What truly made Phoebe smile was when I began sharing my dishes with her. On top of that mountain, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me.
