We met in 2023 working at our local Chick-fil-A. Almost a year after, he trained me on a position in the kitchen, and he grabbed my number from our scheduling app and asked if I’d want to go rock climbing sometime. A few months later, we started seeing each other and made it official in May 2024. Funny enough, we just went rock climbing this year!

On Christmas Eve 2025, we were celebrating with his family when my cousins called from my family’s Christmas—the first one I’d ever missed—asking if I “had a ring yet.” About an hour later, Scott asked if I wanted to look at the stars. We went out to his parents’ dock and sat on the same bench we’d sat on two years earlier when we first started seeing each other. After talking about constellations and how special the past year had been, he got down on one knee with the most beautiful ring I’d ever seen. Of course I saw it after I pulled out my phone flashlight because it was dark out. He said he wanted to spend all his future Christmases with me—and I said yes. It was so intimate, just us two out there. We really got to soak in the moment of the decision we just made to love each other for the rest of our lives.
